DREAD, BUSY WITH ITS BIGGEST UPDATE NEVER PERFORMED BEFORE
Good news! Dread is expected to be back online in a few hours.
As of today, most frequent users of this platform will have seen the message in which it is communicated that the platform is under maintenance and cannot be used. The platform had been exposing this message for days, specifically, since Saturday morning, when we all expected it to be a maintenance routine that would not last more than a couple of hours.
Today, two days later after the start of the maintenance session and without any communication from Dread team, the same message announcing the maintenance could still be read by users until a few hours ago when HB (Dread founder and administrator) has finally communicated to all its users through a signed message (Signature verified) the reasons of why this maintenance session is taking longer than any other made before. The message can be read by accessing the platform, where previously there was the simple maintenance notice.
Measures to reduce spam and phishing are announced. We have to remember that phishing and spam attacks were a daily problem on Dread. Just before the maintenance started, there was a large group of bots spamming all frontpage posts automatically.
Hugbunter also announces stability, increasing its capacity to host more users at the same time. Which is something we feel necessary for a platform that grows daily in number of active users. Finally the founder and administrator apologizes for the downtime and lack of communication, pointing out that this is the biggest update ever done before on the platform.
UPDATE: The site continues offline. 24th September, 6:51 AM.
